Webinar on Federal School Discipline Guidance: How to Use the Guidance in Your Local Work

Co-sponsored by the Dignity in Schools Campaign, NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc., Advancement Project and Alliance for Educational Justice.

On January 8, 2014, the federal Departments of Education and Justice released "School Climate and Discipline Guidance" to school districts. The Guidance lays out civil rights obligations related to school discipline and best practices for reducing disparities and implementing positive approaches to discipline.

On this webinar we reviewed the content of the federal guidance and discussed strategies for how local youth, parent, teacher and advocacy organizations can use the guidance to support your work with school districts and other policy-makers in your communities.

You can download the webinar slides in PDF or PowerPoint Format.
