Dear YUC Allies and Supporters,

It has been one year since Youth United for Change released Zero Tolerance in Philadelphia: Denying Educational Opportunities and Creating a Pathway to Prison.  Since the release of the report there have been shifts in the discipline practices of the School District of Philadelphia.  These shifts include the removal of zero tolerance from the student code of conduct, the creation of the Expulsion Committee which reviews all expulsion cases and now empowers  principals to waive young people from entering the expulsion pipeline.  However, many young people still face the threat of arrest in Philadelphia's public schools.  On January 19, 2012 Youth United for Change members will testify and demand a new Memorandum of Understanding between the Philadelphia School District and the Philadelphia Police Department.  As members step forward to tell their stories and demand changes we call upon you for support.

Please join us as we take a stand against the criminalization of Philadelphia's youth.
