NYCoRE 3rd Annual Conference
Over the past year, our country and the world have witnessed increasingly visible protests against the influence of private pursuit of profit over our public institutions and interests. The annual NYCoRE conference seeks to carry out anti-racist work by addressing these disparities in the context of our education system. The Dignity in Schools Campaign - New York coalition will hold a panel at NYCoRE's 3rd Annual Conference.

Moderator: Teachers Unite
Facilitators: Youth Organizers and Students, Sistas and Brothas United
Youth Organizers and Students, Youth Ministries from Peace and Justice
What does it mean to break the school to prison pipeline? How can youth, parents and educators ensure that all students are treated with dignity? In this workshop, explore these questions with Bronx youth organizers from Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice and Sistas and Brothas United as well as educator allies in Teachers Unite. Through a skit and interactive activities, participants will learn and reflect with Bronx youth on ways to build school communities that support all students.
