On November 2015, TruthOut published the article, "How Police Became Part of the Public School System and How to Get Them Out" by GS Potter, a community activist and educator. In the article, Potter provides a brief history of law enforcement in public schools and provides recommendations to limit the role of police in schools, including for funding for law enforcement to be eliminated altogether and redirected into community education programs.
