Dignity in Schools - New York
(DSC-NY) will hold a rally and street theater action at City Hall to stop pushout and create positive discipline in New York City schools. DSC-NY members include: Advocates for Children, Center for Community Alternatives, Children’s Defense Fund-NY, Desis Rising Up & Moving, Future of Tomorrow, Girls for Gender Equity, Make the Road New York, Mass Transit Street Theatre, NESRI, NSA Parent Action Committee, NYCLU, Sistas and Brothas United, Teachers Unite, UYC, Youth Ministries for Peace & Justice, Youth on the Move

Saturday, October 8

Teachers Unite
, in collaboration with Dignity in Schools – New York, will host Kay Pranis, a leader in the Restorative Justice field, for a training in restorative circle facilitation. Youth, parents, and educators from across New York City will be learning how to use circles as a practice to build community in schools and address the pushout of Black, Latina/o, immigrant and special education students.
